Colleen Hoover fans, your wait is finally over. Verity, the 2026 erotic psychological thriller based on Hoover’s bestselling 2018 novel, has arrived with a star cast that promises drama, secrets, and plenty of uncomfortable silences. The film is directed by Michael Showalter and written by Nick Antosca.
The story follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to complete the remaining books of famous author Verity Crawford. But when Lowen moves into the Crawford home, she discovers Verity’s unpublished autobiography—and what she reads changes everything. What begins as a professional assignment slowly turns into a dangerous web of lies, obsession, and possible murder.
Anne plays Verity Crawford, the brilliant but mysterious bestselling author. Dakota steps in as Lowen Ashleigh, while Josh Hartnett plays Jeremy Crawford, Anne’s husband and the man caught between two women with very different versions of the truth.
The supporting cast includes Ismael Cruz Córdova as Lowen’s agent Corey, Brady Wagner as Crew Crawford, Irina Dvorovenko as Verity’s nurse Anna, K. K. Moggie as Amanda, and Michael Abbott Jr. as a Vermont police officer.
