Digger: When & Where To Watch Online

Tom Cruise Digger OTT Release

Tom Cruise is back, and this time he is not chasing spies or flying fighter jets. In Digger, he plays Digger Rockwell, an ageing oil magnate whose relentless drilling triggers a full-blown ecological disaster. Directed by Oscar winner Alejandro González Iñárritu, the film is a sharp satirical black comedy with a dark, uncomfortable edge.

Cruise leads a strong ensemble that includes Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, Robert John Burke, Emma D’Arcy, Burn Gorman, Sophie Wilde and Jesse Plemons. The film also marks Cruise’s first collaboration with Iñárritu, known for Birdman, The Revenant and Amores Perros.

The story began taking shape in Iñárritu’s mind after The Revenant. He co-wrote the screenplay with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris Jr. and Nicolás Giacobone, based on a story developed with Jez Butterworth. Filming ran from November 2024 to May 2025 across the United Kingdom.

More About Digger Movie

Digger had its world premiere at Leicester Square in London on September 22, 2026. Warner Bros. Pictures then released it in theatres on October 2, 2026, with screenings also available in IMAX. The film was shot entirely in VistaVision, giving its large-scale satire an appropriately bold visual punch.

Interestingly, it became Warner Bros.’ final theatrical release before Warner Bros. Discovery was acquired by Paramount Skydance on October 6, 2026. That makes this film not just a major Cruise release, but also a small piece of Hollywood history.

For now, Digger is playing exclusively in cinemas. There has been no official announcement about its streaming platform or digital release date. Warner Bros. has not confirmed when the film will move beyond theatres, so fans will need to wait for an official update.
