If you’ve been waiting for a fresh, emotional take on the Ramayana, Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha might just be the film to catch your heart. Directed by Abhishek Singh and produced by Prakash Mahobiya and Sanjay Bundela under Mahobiya Films, this mythological drama brings the timeless epic to life in a way that feels both modern and deeply rooted in tradition.
The story follows Shashwat, a wayward young man who stumbles into an ancient temple and meets Lord Hanuman. Through Hanuman’s guidance, Shashwat witnesses the life, trials, and righteousness of Lord Rama. This journey doesn’t just retell the epic—it transforms Shashwat, helping him find his true purpose. It’s a tale of faith, redemption, and the power of storytelling, told with a human touch that resonates with today’s audience.
What makes this film stand out is its cast and language. Dev Sharma steps into the role of Shri Ram, while Anjali Arora makes her feature-film debut as Mata Sita. Rajniesh Duggal takes on the formidable role of King Raavan, with Sheel Verma as Laxman and Nirbhay Wadhwa as Hanuman. The film is presented in both Hindi and Chhattisgarhi, aiming to connect with audiences across India, especially in its home state of Chhattisgarh.
