Premalu 2 was a long-awaited sequel to the 2024 movie Premalu, directed by Girish AD. Starting with Mamitha Baiju and Nasleen, the film was expected to continue the story, but now it seems that the movie might never happen.

As per some reports, Premalu 2 has been delayed by the makers because there is a problem during the film shooting. The reason might be big and crucial, that why the team decided to not take it further in time.

Premalu is a rom-com drama released back in 2024, in the Malayalam language. The film revolves around the life of Sachin, a youngster who is unlucky in both love and life. He has a dream of moving to the United Kingdom to pursue higher studies. Later, after failing to secure a visa, instead of moving abroad, he decided to stay in Hyderabad with his friend.
As he adjusted to the new city, Sachin met Reenu, an IT professional. He tries to win her heart over and over. If Reenu reveals her feelings by noticing his efforts, that forms the story worth watching.
You see Naslen as Sachin and Mamitha Baiju as Reenu in the lead roles; the film also features Akhil Bharhavan as Karthika, Sangeetha Prathap as Amal, Shyam Mohan as Aadhi, Meenakshi Raveendran as Nihmath, and some others in key roles.

Naslen next appears in the lead roles in the film Mollywood Times, directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak. The film is set to be released on June 5, 2026. Further, he’ll be featured in projects such as Asif Ali’s Starter Tiki Taka, Suriya’s Warily Titled cop action Suriya47, and Amal Neetad’s Bachelor Party D’eux.

On the other hand, Mamitha Baiju was last seen in Dhanush’s film Kara. In the future, the actress will play the lead role in Vishnu Vishal’s film Irandu Vaanam. She is also part of Thalapathy Vijay’s film Jana Nayagan, which is expected to be released in June 2026.
