OMG 2 controversy explodes after Paresh Rawal's interview claiming the sequel idea belonged to him.
Rawal says he never got credit and that he didn’t want the film made as an OMG sequel.
He also claims he had auditioned with others for a role later played by Akshay Kumar.
Producer Ashwin Varde strongly denied Rawal’s claims, calling them “shocking, untrue and unsubstantiated.”
Varde says writer-director Amit Rai pitched the story after a meeting; Rai registered the screenplay in his name.
Producer adds Rawal told Rai the rights belonged to him, and even pushed to keep Akshay Kumar away from the project.
Varde calls Rawal’s plan “unethical” and “nothing short of theft,” saying several actors refused because it felt like an OMG sequel tied to Akshay.
Varde insists Rawal got producer credit, was paid, and that the makers followed ethical, legal steps — leaving the debate unresolved.
