When & where to watch ‘OBSESSION’ series on OTT in India?
Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette, cast in Obsession, which was released in India on May 29, may not be far from its digital debut. The psychological horror thriller first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, 2025. It is possibly to be released online in an uncensored Version.
For the Indian Audience, they have to wait longer with patience; there’s no need to feel hopeless. According to a Forbes report, Universal Pictures has a deal with Blumhouse. The report reveals that the arrangements are being held to see the obsession first stream on Peacock and then move to Netflix.
Reports also stated that the film’s streaming timeline solely depends on how well it performs on its theatrical run. At this point, there is no clue when the official streaming date has been announced.
According to Jason Blum from Blumhouse, who is a distributor of the film, stated that a strong theatrical response is the only way that could keep the obsession in cinemas for longer.
While speaking with Variety. said, “he is a big believer in a long, consistent theatrical window”. Blum also said that “it was encouraging to see the audience supporting the longer run in cinema instead of pushing the early digital debut”. Further, he added that people will definitely cherish the theatrical experience and wish to give up the ease of seeing at home.
When To Expect Obsession OTT Release?
If we look at the Blumhouse policy, according to it, films earn less than USD 50 million, then there’s a chance to get the 17-day theatrical window. And if the film earns more than that, then the window is extended to at least 31 days. If Blumhouse’s policy is applied, then there is a higher chance that the movie will set the stage on June 15. Obsession builds its presence for its theatrical performance. According to the reviews, the film is more than a supernatural curse; it is more about loneliness and the desire to be loved at any cost.
