Yami Gautam is back on screen with Nayyi Navelli, a Hindi comedy-horror that mixes family drama, folklore, and supernatural chills. The film arrived in cinemas on October 16, 2026, and quickly became a talking point for its unusual “perfect bahu or daayan?” premise.
Directed by Balaji Mohan, the film marks his Bollywood directorial debut. Written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, it is backed by Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow Productions.
The story is set in Meerut, where Mohini enters the chaotic Awasthi household as the new daughter-in-law. She seems to fix everything—until her brother-in-law starts believing she may not be human at all.
Yami Gautam plays Mohini, while Addinath M. Kothare appears as Raja Awasthi. The cast also includes Mita Vashisht, Sonal Jha, Sunita Rajwar, Anurag Thakur, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, and Prateek Pachori.
