Doraemon is back, and this time he takes Nobita and the gang deep beneath the ocean on an adventure that is equal parts magical, mysterious, and heartwarming. Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil brings the beloved robot cat’s world to life with fresh animation, new stakes, and plenty of gadget-powered fun.
About Doraemon: Castle of the Undersea Devil
The film is the 45th Doraemon feature and a modern remake of the 1983 classic. Directed by Tetsuo Yajima and written by Isao Murayama, it was released in Japanese theatres on February 27, 2026, and arrived in Indian cinemas on October 2, 2026.
The story begins with a very relatable summer-vacation problem: Nobita and his friends cannot agree on where to go camping. Doraemon, naturally, has a solution no one else could imagine—an underwater camping trip.
Using the Underwater Buggy and the Tekio Light, the five friends explore the ocean, meet fascinating sea creatures, and stumble upon a sunken ship. That discovery introduces them to El, a mysterious young man from the Mu Federation, an underwater civilisation that does not exactly trust people from land.
Things take a serious turn when news spreads that the feared “Devil’s Rock Castle” has started to move. What follows is a grand adventure in which friendship, courage, and Doraemon’s gadgets matter more than ever.
At 102 minutes, the movie blends comedy, fantasy, and adventure while keeping its emotional core simple: friends standing by each other when it matters most.
For now, the film ‘Doraemon: Castle of the Undersea Devil’ is available in theatres, with Indian audiences able to watch it in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. There is no official confirmation yet about its OTT platform or digital release date.
