Kollywood Actor Suriya recently played the lead role in Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. As he preps himself for their upcoming films. It seems like the actors came in to chit-chat and collaborate with the Jailer director, Nelson Dilipkumar.
Are Suriya & Nelson Dilipkumar collaborating?
According to Valai Pechu, the South Indian Superstar is apparently willing to work with director Nelson Dilipkumar, while the director is planning their 50th film, provisionally titled Suriya50. Seemingly, the project might be sponsored by Sithara Entertainments, with Anirudh Ravichander taking charge of music and background score. Well, no official announcement has been made so far, and the information is merely based on a report.
On the other hand, the actor’s team was approached by the filmmaker regarding the possibility of collaborating on a comedy film. Despite that, Nelson is currently busy with Jailer 2, along with working on the pre-production stage of KHxRK Reunion.
Suriya’s Work Front
The fan’s very own “Nadippin Nayagan” was last seen in the lead role of Karuppu. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film unfolds with the story of a father and daughter who travel from Kerala to Chennai for her daughter’s liver transplant surgery. With no place to lay their heads, they both spend the night at the railway station. The duo is robbed of the gold they brought along to sell and cover the medical bill.
The story takes a turn when they are forced to face challenges created by antagonist Baby Kannan in the courtroom, under which the robbed gold was half recovered. The hopeless father prays to the deity Karuppusamy, who takes human form to help them and reforms the corrupted system. The movie also stars Trishna Krishana, RJ Balaji, Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi, Natarajan Subramaniam, Swasika, and Sshivada in key roles.

After a successful run at the big screen, Karuppu made its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video. The movie was released on OTT on June 12, 2026, globally.
